"You ALWAYS say this next series will be the best ever!"
When I hear that, I just smile and laugh! Here's the deal...
- I say it because I really do believe it! As Tony Stewart says in the Burger King commercial, "Endorse what you believe in. I endorse it because I love it." I LOVE what I do! And I believe in what I say!
- I really do get stoked up about Sundays and teaching at Meadow! This is not just a job to me - it is my life and calling! When I say this coming Sunday is going to be the best ever - it's just a little of my enthusiasm leaking out! (Trust me - you don't want to get the full deluge of what I REALLY believe about Sunday!)
- If a pastor isn't excited about Sunday - how in the world can he expect anyone else to be? Perry Noble said, "If you are a church leader and/or pastor and can't get excited about Sundays...maybe you're in the wrong church...or even the wrong line of work!"
- When I write a message, I NEVER approach it with an attitude of "this is good enough" or "this one will do". Nope. Every message. Every Sunday is a REALLY BIG DEAL!!!
One of my pet peeves is when pastors and church leaders approach Sundays with a "just another Sunday" attitude. This Sunday is not "just another Sunday"!!!! It will be the best Sunday ever!!!!
AND...rarely is there a Sunday that I have not invited someone who doesn't go to church to come. I take every Sunday very personally because I have friends who don't go to church who might be there and it is not "just another Sunday"!!!
And no I WON'T get off this soap box!!!
And just in case you're wondering ... this coming Sunday at Meadow? You know, the kick-off to the new series "The Epic Life"? This Sunday really will be the best Sunday ever, and this series really is going to change lives more than ever before!!!
